From my friend Laura!

Greetings to All:

I recently signed up to help Kodak Gallery “promote” its new website. This is the site I use to send out photos of my kids on regular basis. I also use this site for all my photo finishing needs. So, in my signing up to promote the new site, Kodak Gallery sent me 150 coupons good for 40% anything on their site (except 9 cent 4”x6” prints). www.kodakgallery.com

If anyone is interested in any of these coupons codes please just email me, and I can email you a Promo Code. Or drop a comment the blog post and we will get it to you.

This offer is only good from December 5th – December 12th.

Please do not hesitate to ask for more than one code – share the savings with friends, etc. Like I said, I have 150 coupons to share.

Happy Savings.

Hope to hear from you.

Like cheap books?

I went to a used book store in Webster today called "Yesterday's Muse Books." I found quite a few great books for $2, $3, and $4 and up. Many popular books as well like the Twilight series, The Time Traveler's Wife, Jodi Picoult books, classics, and soooo many more... Everything you can imagine!!! I picked up Anita Shreve's "Body Surfing" and "Sea Glass" as well as Barbara Kingsolver's, "The Poisenwood Bible." You can purchase them and return them for partial credit towards other books. You can also see if they will purchase your unwanted books too. Their site is: www.yesterdaysmuse.com It provides a search to look for books that you want without making the trip. How awesome is that???

The address is: 32 W Main ST, Webster Village, Webster, NY 14580 Phone (585)265-9295
Store Hours: S 10-5, M Closed, T-F 10-7, and S 10-6

I love cheap books. This way I can take my time reading them and not worry about library fines or someone else having them on a hold or needing it back.

Think about cheap holiday gifts for readers!!! If the person you are buying for has a huge book list, ask them if they would like to have that wish list filled with more books for the money.

Enjoy and happy reading!!

Happy Halloween tip!

Tip for discount snacks:

The Snyder pretzels 30 pack Halloween bag have individually packs not in Halloween wrappers. The pretzels have no fat and little salt. When they go on sale tomorrow they would be a great item to pick up and keep for kid snacks in your purse or for playdates. They are not for kids with nut allergies.
Have a safe and healthy Halloween everyone!

AND people can come and learn about the Exotic Animals from the W.E.C.. People can have pictures taken with our exotics for a $5 donation and we will print the picture out for them. It's fun :)

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Tot Trail for ages 2-5 in Penfield

NEW DATE: Tot Trail Ribbon-Cutting, Oct 2

DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE TOWN OF PENFIELD HAS CHANGED THE TOT-TRAIL RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY FROM TUESDAY, SEPT. 29 TO FRIDAY, OCT. 2 AT 10:30 A.M.

NEW DATE: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 10:30 AM IN VERTERANS' MEMORIAL PARK (BEHIND TOWN HALL NEAR DOLOMITE LODGE)

NEW "TOT TRAIL" FITNESS AREA IN VETERANS' MEMORIAL PARK; OPENING OCTOBER 2
- Ribbon cutting, trail promotes physical activity for young children-

The Town of Penfield, in partnership with the Greater Rochester Health Foundation, has installed a new mini-fitness trail in Veterans' Memorial Park for its youngest residents. The 300-foot "Tot Trail," designed for children ages two to five, is located on the west side of the 85-acre Veteran's Memorial Park near the Dolomite Lodge, just south of the playground. The trail features four age-appropriate fitness stations designed to develop strength, agility and balance. Children exploring the trail will find an upper body strength trainer, a low-to-the-ground curved balance beam, a group of mini pod toad stools, and an inviting rock-bluff. A new butterfly garden alongside the trail is part of the installation.

A ribbon-cutting for the Tot Trail will be held Friday, October 2, at 10:30 a.m. in Veterans' Memorial Park. The public, especially families with young children ages 2-5, is invited to attend, try out the new fitness trail, and enjoy a healthy snack.

The Tot Trail was funded by a mini-grant from the Greater Rochester Health Foundation to increase physical activity and improve nutrition for children two to 10. Trail design and labor were provided by the Town of Penfield. The project team, led by Councilman Jim Mulley, includes town engineers as project designers with planning and installation support from Penfield Parks and Recreation departments.

"This new addition to Veterans' Memorial Park is designed to encourage children to be physically active. The Tot Trail furthers the efforts of the town to promote healthy, active lifestyles and combat childhood obesity," said Town Councilman Jim Mulley.

Supervisor George Wiedemer adds, "The Tot Trail is a wonderful introduction to Penfield's extensive trail system and a great addition to our popular Passport to Family Wellness."

Please direct any questions regarding the project to Councilman Jim Mulley. To learn more about the Passport to Family Wellness and Penfield's trail system, visit www.penfield.org and go to Parks and Recreation, Town Trails (maps are provided for each trail).

If you would like to attend, please contact Phyllis Ely in advance at 340-8647 or ely@penfield.org.

Strawberry recipes that are Tasty!

My daughter and I went strawberry picking at Chase farms http://www.chasefarmsmarket.com/ all the way out near Victor on Sunday.  We had so many berries that I tried some excellent recipes I thought I would share:

I am not a big fan of recipes that take too much time or energy so I found these to work out for us.  I had never canned anything before.  Wegmans has a supply of jars with instructions on it that are idiot proof and inexpensive. These recipes are super tasty indeed!

Thrifty Snack

Have any wraps you are tired of??? Heat the oven to 350. Spray each side with "Pam" and stack. Cut into triangles. Put on a cookie sheet and sprinkle with a little of garlic salt or something you like. Bake for about 9 minutes till a bit golden on the edges. Leave plain or dip into anything you like: salsa, cream cheese spreads or dips. I have done this with spinach, honey, and plain flavored wraps. They are a nice treat!!

Fw: Nicki's Mosiac Table

I have to tell you about my talented friend Nicki.  She saw a table that she wanted that was extremely pricey and decided to make it herself.  I knew she would do something fabulous.  That's just how she does things. She wanted a mosaic picnic table.  Here's what she wrote about her supplies and other ways to do it to be thrifty:

The door...about 20.00 at Lowes but Mr. Seconds (Bargain Outlet) on Empire Blvd had one that was too heavy for 5.
Tiles..about 225.00
Tile adhesive...4.00
grout...18.00
sealer...9.00

I also bought the sawhorses, sponge, grout applicator and gun for adhesive but people might have those already.  I need to get a base or legs (hoping to get a free wooden spool from Crowne Electric that I can paint as a base) and need to paint the edges of the door with exterior paint.  So if the base is free, the paint is all I have left to get...about 20.00.  So, without the base or legs, the table cost me about 276.00 plus supplies!  AND...people can use cheaper tiles and spend about half of what I spent on tiles.  I used travertine but porcelain is much cheaper.  Also....Lowes sells huge bins of broken tiles for 5.00/bin.  I have 2 bins that I am willing to part with if anyone wants free broken tiles to make a table.  So...if they go with a broken/rustic look with a door from Mr. Seconds for 5-20 bucks, they can make a table for about 40.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coffee Review Monday

Hi all.  I tried the Berres Brothers Coffees and all were pretty good.  I really liked the Highlander Grogg but not so much the House Blend. The Highlander Grogg was a really nice blend of a few flavors.  My hubby liked the regular Colombian.  The House Blend tasted ashy to me.  They have lots of flavors.  All were pretty good like I said.  Here's the link:

Coffee Review Monday

So yeah, I am still on this coffee tasting kick...... I am using Wegmans brand, Pure Origin Exotic Coffee From Around The World ~~ "Jamaican Mid-day." I like this one too. Not as much as the Rainforest one, but a good second. It is really good for mid-day since it's a bit lighter. For the morning though I add more coffee than normal to make it a bit stronger. I would purchase it again. It's a little pricey at about 6.99 (or sale 5.99) a pound. I believe it's well worth it.

Join me with reviewing any coffee you please. I would love to Internet hop to see what others are taste testing! Enter your name and your web address (blog, Facebook, etc...) Or leave a comment with one you think I should try next. I love suggestions.
